Team Lead - Principal Developer (Unix, C++)
JOB SUMMARY
7. Based on technological roadmap coming from the Company’s headquarter in France, the job objective is to participate in the development of the core mobile solution product dedicated to GSM/UMTS operators, worldwide, and provide value added services to the customers.
8. The global objective is to provide competitive, diverse and innovative functionality for our products with a full compatibility with the various SIM cards developed by the Company, as well as other SIM card suppliers.
9. Technical support on mobile solution products must be provided to the Company regional offices, worldwide, for training and deployment in operator environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Software development
2. UNIX & Windows systems
3. Deep knowledge of Object Oriented Programming
4. A minimum of 7 years product development experience in system design (system architecture, server/client, network…)
5. Proficiency in sockets, threads, multi-threading, multi-process, memory management, network protocols (TCP/IP, encryption, http, ftp, smtp, udp, rtp)
6. Proficiency in Unix Environment, C and C++, scripts, Unified Modeling Language, Software/Design Patterns
7. With working experience in DB design and management (RDBMS); Oracle 9i/Postgres experience a plus
8. CORBA is an advantage
9. SIM card, mobile and GSM environment Demonstrated capabilities to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
10. Proven leadership experience required
11. Highly analytical with great problem-solving skills
12. Fluency in oral and written English
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide analysis and technical leadership in the development of product requirements
2. Produce functional system design and documentation to appropriate detail from requirement definitions
3. Ensure that delivered software installs and runs the 1st time
4. Review estimates, designs, analysis, quality assurance, code and test plans where appropriate
5. Discuss requirements with Team Manager/s and Project Team Members when appropriate
6. To carry out the development of mobile solution products based on the given requirements by writing complex, efficient, quality codes.
7. Provide technical assistance and support on all Mobile Solutions Products. Provide constant guidance and coaching in coding and testing to other members of the project team.
8. To assist in the overall project planning with respect to the product delivery date by accurately estimating effort for self and others – ensuring that estimated tasks are delivered on time, with minimal number of cases of poor analysis and coding (little rework required) and within agreed upon specifications.
9. To create and maintain appropriate product/system documentation when appropriate
10. Identify and escalate issues in a timely fashion, constantly aiming to initiate change for the improvement of the team/process/system; provides updates to Team Manager/s and other project stakeholders.
