DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Senior Software Engineer is responsible to coach and mentor a new applications development team in Manila, Philippines. Team size is anticipated to be 2-4 SW engineers.
• Position is responsible to design and develop application software for POS terminals, to support terminal certifications, to provide on demand site support, to work with APAC region teams (Hong Kong and Australia), to conduct training, installation, presentation and demonstration to end users
• Position is responsible to promote SW engineering practices to ensure reliable project execution, product quality, and operational efficiencies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineer or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 4 years solid programming experience including 3 years in C and C++ programming (e.g. mastery of pointers, OOP programming is a must) and a minimum 1 year as a Senior SW responsible for day-to-day supervision of SW development projects and/or teams.
• Minimum of 3 years experience on application design, development, implementation and support.
• Minimum 3 years embedded SW development including 2 years of Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) programming.
• Experience in business analysis and writing Functional Specifications preferred but not required.
• Experience with low-level synchronous and asynchronous communication protocols
• Understanding with POS (Point-of-Sale) terminals or other highly secure financial/transaction solutions is a plus.
• Experience with the following is a plus:
• Z80 Assembler Language
• Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) experience, cryptography software development experience
• General device driver knowledge in the areas of serial, ethernet, USB, flash memory, displays, printers, wireless modems, Bluetooth, RFID, magnetic strip readers, smart cards
• Embedded Linux development
• Good understanding of TCP/IP or other related Network Programming Principles.
• Self-initiative, self-motivated, ability to work under pressure and with remote supervision.
• Good team player, strong verbal, written and leadership skills.
• Overtime will be required if needed.
• Can travel if needed. |
