NETWORK TEST ENGINEER

POSITION SUMMARY:
Develop test plans/test strategies to ensure that the new features of network products meet specifications
Performs functional testing and capacity testing and prepares the appropriate reporting documentation
Work closely with the R&D Centers to reproduce, analyze, and debug internal bugs found during feature testing as well as customer issues found in the field.
Participates in peer and management review of test plan/test strategies
Identifies, analyzes, and documents defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies found during testing
Duties will also include troubleshooting network issues and exercising test procedures
Provides training and technical support for other QA engineers with varying levels of Network knowledge and competence
Provides status reports on the progress of assigned quality control activities
Provides effort estimates, constraints, and dependencies as input to quality testing schedule estimation


REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 3 years work experience in network switching and routing protocols
Strong knowledge and work experience in Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols
Experience in testing IP Routing/RIP/OSPF/BGP/QOS/IGMP
Good understanding of IPv6 routing protocols is a plus
Solid troubleshooting abilities
Strong analytical skills
Ability to interact effectively with various test, development, and support groups of the company globally
Must be multi-tasking and able to work independently with minimal managerial oversight
Experience in developing test cases and test scripts is beneficial
Excellent communication skills in English
Experienced with networking test tools such as IXIA is a plus
Cisco certified professional is a plus
