Java Developer (ITSS-10-00034B)
Plans, develops, tests and documents client applications working with Division IT Staff. Primary development will be in the web/client platform.
Evaluates user request, as translated and forwarded from division IT staff;
Reviews feasibility and compatibility with the current systems and computer capabilities;
Coordinates solution with division IT staff;
Formulates plan outlining steps required to develop program and submits plan to division IT staff for approval;
Prepares flowcharts and diagrams, when needed or requested, to illustrate sequence of steps program must follow and to describe logical operations involved which includes identifying object and function;
Designs GUI and batch objects/processes to meet user request;
Converts project specifications into sequence of detailed instructions and logical steps for coding into language process able by computer;
Analyzes, reviews and alters program to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements;
Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding and corrections;
Writes manual for users to describe installation and operating procedures;
Assists users to solve operating problems;
Recreates steps taken by user to locate source of problem and rewrites program to correct errors;
Provides technical assistance to division IT staff to train users on use of developed system/program.
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor\\\'s/College Degree , Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
Three to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical background in areas related to business programming with proven program design and coding techniques including modular, component and object-oriented programming:
Strong skills in MS SQL, Java (J2EE), GUI (AWT/Swing), Struts, Servlets, XML, HTML, C#, .NET, Web Services, JavaScript and use specific tools to develop applications.
Preferred skills in SharePoint MOSS, ASP, PHP, AJAX, Struts, Java Script, jQUERY, BPEL, understanding of SOA, Oracle Application Development Framework, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle EBS. |
