IT Team Leader

Strategic and Architectural
• Generates long range strategic plans and migration strategies for infrastructural systems
• Participates with other IT and Operational senior managers to align infrastructure planning with corporate strategic plans and objectives
• Develops alternative, cost efficient, architectures with associated business cases and feasibility studies based on mature ROI, NPV and payback models
• Leads the evaluation, architecture, design and implementation of all new and upgraded infrastructure systems
• Monitors and maintains cost effectiveness of overall architecture
• Drives overall internal customer satisfaction with IT production support groups including desktop support and our helpdesk via internal satisfaction metrics with IT
• Maintains knowledge of the latest technologies and architectural alternatives on the open market via self-directed study, research and presentation at conferences

Operational
• Maintains 24X7 responsibility for availability of all aspects of infrastructural systems
• Drives resolution of production issues including but not limited to the following steps: troubleshoots, develops alternatives, communicates alternatives including advantages and disadvantages to internal and external clients, recommends preferred alternatives and implements preferred solution
• Communicates and discusses status of infrastructure projects and issues to IT as well as Operations management
• Identifies and implements forward looking technologies to improve IT response time to issues
• Establishes infrastructure operational objectives and assignments and delegates assignments to subordinate managers
• Reviews and adjusts the infrastructure team structure, resources, skills and training
• Manages the overall infrastructure and production support teams based on clear metrics, expectations and objectives

Administrative & Financial
• Maintains overall responsibility for IT infrastructure budgeting and cost containment
• Plays a senior infrastructure vendor management role in negotiations and troubleshooting

Technical Requirements
• Extensive experience with PHP
• Ability to develop and maintain scalable websites using M-V-C framework & architecture; cake, PHP preferred
• Experience incorporating 3rd party PHP, JavaScript, & AJAX components into existing web applications
• Understanding of PHP memory usage, web application performance, and defensive coding techniques / web page security
• Knowledge surrounding Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Marketing (SEM)
• Experience with AJAX / JSON preferred
• Experience developing & supporting client side JavaScript preferred
• Community web application development, including forums, user feedback, user profiles a plus; Drupal experience desired
• Knowledge of SQL on MySQL, preferred
• Expert knowledge of SQL
• Good knowledge of PL/SQL.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL performance analysis and tuning
• Data warehouse experience
• Object oriented programming language, preferably Java
• Conceptual knowledge of object oriented methodology and how it relates to relational modeling, desirable
